Feng Shui

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art and science of locating and creating a place on earth and keeping it sacred.

The literal translation of feng shui is “wind and water,” two elements of nature.

The Chinese understood that the potential exists for harmony in all life through observing nature.

They noted that we humans live at the exact point where earth meets heaven.

They looked a little further and proposed the concept that humans themselves are the connection between these two great forces.

From that, they understood that by placing themselves in accordance with the nature of heaven and earth, it was possible to live in harmony.

The many ways that the energetic field in a landscape is interpreted are specific to each environment.

“We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.

We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.

We work with being, but non-being is what we use.”

Dao De Jing, 6th Century BE.
